Our first time visiting the beautiful Caribbean island of Anguilla. This is a special island full of beautiful beaches, amazing food, and friendly people. We will no doubt be back (hopefully soon!)

  • Shoal Bay East....right outside of Gwen's Reggae Bar....highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a good rum punch. The beach isn't too shabby either!

  • Outside of the Frangipani Beach Resort on Meads Bay. We enjoyed a beautiful view of Meads Bay while having dinner at Doris' restaurant, the Straw Hat. Thanks again Doris for the great table and first round of cocktails!

  • Managed to sneak in this picture of Alex checking out the beach on Meads Bay just before sunset. Have to say the lighting was pretty awesome that evening! And somehow I managed to capture the only moment where Alex wasn't running into the water!

  • Can't stop taking pictures of those darn umbrellas...and these were so nicely arranged. Just a perfect spot!

  • Had some technical difficulties with the camera, but still managed to get our one and only family shot just before sunset on Meads Bay. Guess it was worth it to haul my tripod with me (it's literally the only time I used it the entire trip!)

  • My new favorite restaurant....and they even had gluten free! Alex loved his burger, and the pulled pork tacos were hard to beat.

  • Alex met a new friend. This is Rikayla, and she's a super awesome 3rd grader from Anguilla. Her and her little sister joined us for lunch on the beach that day. The people in Anguilla are so friendly and nice....

  • On our last day, we headed out East to Island Harbor to check out the less touristy side of Anguilla. It's beautiful, and hoping we can spend more time over here on our next visit (there needs to be a next time!)

  • The calm, beautiful waters of Crocus Bay. Right behind me was our beach chairs, and the wonderful DaVida restaurant. Out of all the beaches we visited, I think Crocus was my favorite.

  • Oneea's favorite beach was no doubt Shoal Bay East. That water is just unreal!

  • We visited several resorts while we were there including Cap Jaluca on Maunday's Bay. We had lunch at Blue which was outstanding (never had a caper that delicious in my life!) and then hung out on this beach for a few hours attempting to boogie board on the floatie mats :)

  • "The Point" along Shoal Bay East. This is an awesome beach to go for a walk....at the far end of the beach you reach the point...in years past, you could continue on past the point...unfortunately beach erosion has taken away that beach :( Nevertheless, it's still one of the most scenic beach walks we've ever done...and don't worry, if you're thirsty, there are plenty of beach bars that are happy to keep you hydrated!

  • Alex just before his first jump off the pier at Crocus Bay. It really is hard to beat a good jump!

  • A little video I made of Alex jumping off the pier. Took about 30 pictures on my phone using Burst mode, and then used the Burstio app to create a cool little video out of them. Love it!!!

  • This is Little Bay. We were thinking we would take a quick boat ride over here, but the water ended up getting rough the last couple days, so we decided to pass on it and leave it for our next trip. It apparently has some of the best snorkeling on the island.

  • Taken from the viewpoint on Back Road...this is looking down at Sandy Ground, one of the main tourist areas on Anguilla. Lots of cool shops, restaurants and bars line the bay.

  • We went to AARF (Anguilla Animal Rescue Foundation) one morning to play with the puppies. We got very close to adopting this little girl named Odette....but in the end, decided it wasn't quite the right time to bring home a puppy. Alex loved seeing all the animals, and we all felt good knowing we gave them some love and attention that morning (and a nice donation when we left :))

  • The Sunshine Shack is the perfect place to spend an afternoon. Great music, drinks and food (the ribs were amazing!). The beach at Rendezvous Bay is stunning, with beautiful views across the water to the mountains island of St Maarten. No doubt we'll be coming back here hopefully soon.
